Description
Use for: Oregano is orally used for respiratory tract infections and symptoms such as common cold, influenza, cough, sinusitis and bronchitis. It is also used for urinary tract infections, headaches, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, bleeding from tooth extraction and dyslipidemia.
Concerns: Oregano is mostly well tolerated in appropriate doses. It may show the antiplatelet effect as well as the lowering blood sugar effect. Consult with health care professional on concomitant use with oregano with anticoagulants, antiplatelets and antidiabetic medications. Avoid use on pregnancy and lactation. People who are allergic to Lamiaceae family including thyme, lavender, marjoram, mint, sage, basil and hyssop may cause the allergic reaction on oregano use.
